SESAR
Integra Consult has supported ANS Czech Republic in SESAR projects for operational and technical support since 2016
European airspace remains fragmented and experiences increasing capacity shortfalls. Capacity improvements defined under the SESAR programme will overall not provide the required capacity in the medium term. An Airspace Architecture Study recommended focus on two aspects: Restructuring service provision and virtualisation.
Develop the follow-up study of the Airspace Architecture Study (AAS). Published by the SESAR Joint Undertaking in March 2019, the AAS specifically recommended the establishment of a new, virtualised ATM data service layer based on the pan-European cross-border sharing of ATM data. In an industry which has now been standing still for years, the European Commission really expects the AAS and the concept of ATM data service provision to fuel some change, and eventually enable ANSPs to provide dynamically arranged cross-border air traffic control services (a concept dubbed as Capacity on Demand).
In cooperation with Ernst & Young Belgium and Helios, Integra Consult will assist in safety, operational, economic and military issues.
The continuation of the study will provide a more elaborate concept for a further separation of service provision between air traffic services and ATM data provision services and the supporting conceptual architecture. The following tasks are performed:
Underlying the tasks is a conceptual “systems of systems” architecture separating three layers: Raw data layer (sensors, etc.), data provision layer (processing and making processed data available) and ATS provision layer.
